Ms. Norah Alomar
Norah Alomar is a Master’s student in Women’s Studies at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and has complemented her academic training with a Nanodegree in Digital Marketing.
Her current research, supervised by Dr. Anoud Alhamad, applies Hélène Cixous’s theory of L’écriture Féminine to a comparative study of Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s The Yellow Wallpaper and William Faulkner’s A Rose for Emily. The project explores how gender influences literary style and the representation of women’s mental health. Norah has participated as a researcher and moderator at the Riyadh International Philosophy Conference (2023 and 2024), where she contributed to discussions on literature, philosophy, and gender studies. She has also published creative work, including a monodrama (The Shadow of Choice) and a poetry chapbook (End of Sentence), both of which reflect her interest in women’s voices, identity, and literature.
