Dr. Avion Diana Henry Spencer
She is an immigrant woman from Trinidad and Tobago and educational leader committed to equity and advocacy for immigrant women. She holds a PhD in Leadership and Innovation, Continuous Improvement, with a research focus on immigrant women, as well as two master’s degrees in special education and public health. Dr. Avi currently works as a Special Education Teacher in the New York Public School settings. She also works as an adjunct assistant professor at Brooklyn College, NY. Her interests include culturally responsive leadership, immigrant women’s empowerment, inclusive education, and systems change. She has been recognized for academic excellence and leadership and regularly contributes to professional learning and advocacy spaces supporting marginalized communities.
